TGIF (Tan-grams Gravitate Into Forms)

My Weekly Friday Message 2/8/2019

Dear Stellar Families,

Our new PE coach started this week. Coach Dan Singleton is a fresh recruit out of the Cal State Stanislaus Kinesiology Single Subject Credential  Program. After his first day (Monday) all the kids gave me a thumbs up!! Rare praise.

We had a grand time we had at the SELPA Fair this past Saturday in Dublin. Thanks again to Maria and Kim for taking tine out of their busy Saturday to talk to people about our small but mighty school.

WildMind visited our school today. They brought with them five different animals for us to learn from. All the animals were native to California. It sounded like the raptors were the most popular visiting 'teachers' based on the questions the students asked and the gasps as they were presented. We learned about a turkey vulture, an opossum, a red-tail hawk, a porcupine and a baby grey fox. All of them had their own story; ask your student about them. I have included some pics below.

Please keep talking up our Dyslexic Simulation that we are hosting here, the first Saturday in March. It will be held in the Sanctuary. Here is the link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/dyslexic-simulation-experience-the-frustration-first-hand-tickets-53186989718?aff=ebdssbdestsearch It is only open to the first 60 that register.

From the Yearbook team: It is the advertising season. Please contact any and all businesses that you know and encourage them to advertise in our yearbook. Their ads provide our school with a free yearbooks by covering the printing/shipping costs. Without ads, we will need to charge you for each book. The form is attached. We have extras in the office as well!!

From our Student Council: Please keep sending in items for our "Pets in Need" service project. (Flyer is attached) To add to your calendar: we have picked our next 2 "Crazy Days" themes. On Thursday March 7, come to school dressed in animal themed clothing like: T-shirts, Sweater/Jackets, hats, socks.... AND on Thursday April 11, it will be bring your stuffed animal to school day.

Please remember: Next Thursday is Valentine's Day and we are celebrating by hosting a Heart Healthy buddy event in the Fellowship Hall at 2:00 pm. All participants just need to bring one (1) piece of fruit that has been peeled/cleaned/cut to share. We are going to make a HUGE friendship fruit salad for all to enjoy. Flyer is attached.
