My Weekly Friday Message 3/8/2019
Dear Stellar Families,
It was a wondrous week. We welcomed back all of our science campers; they are still talking about what a great time they had. Mrs. Roberts' response, "So much growth!!!!" (this is a good thing.)
On Monday, we celebrated Dr. Seuss's Read Across America with an hour of "Drop Everything and Read." We had a community volunteer come in to read (my mom) as well as 10 kids that read to their colleagues. It was fun to watch. Thanks to student readers: Rebecca, Natalia, Bella, Tylor, Molly, Ian, Maxwell, Ruby, Asha and Aiden V. Special shout out to Mrs. Castillo and Tutu (my mom) for joining in the fun.
Our visitor's day, on Thursday, saw us host 2 families interested in Stellar. Coincidentally, their children are both second graders. Our reputation for excellence is growing. Congrats to all in our community of parents and staff - well done!
Keeping on your To-Do list:
- Field trip to SF Ballet on Wed. Mar 13,
- NO SCHOOL on Friday March 15
- TH March 21 for the Multicultural Dinner, plan on wearing your cultural clothing AND the kids are encouraged to wear it to school that day.
- Sat April 13 for the Experiencing Dyslexia Simulation - Flyer is attached.
NOTE: Wednesday's field trip won't be back until 2:30. THERE IS NO EARLY RELEASE ON WEDNESDAY 3/13. Plan your student pick up for 2:45 as per usual.
Middle School: Until further notice, they have lost their cell phone privileges at school. Several students made inappropriate choices with their phones during class making this change necessary. They are being collected at the beginning of the day and returned at the end of the day.
To be filed in the "It's never too many times to hear it category" Sunday is Daylight Savings time... We lose an hour....
Have a Grrrreat weekend!!
