My Weekly Friday Message 3/1/2019

Dear Stellar Community,

Here we are, boldly looking at March straight in the face. My first year here is really flying by!

It was a big week for us; full of firsts. We sent the 5th - 7th graders to Outdoor School at Walden West this week for the first time in Stellar's history.  The remaining students went on 2 (two!!!) field trips this week, facilitated by Mrs. Huffmaster, our science teacher. Three field trips in one week is a first too. Our access to water was inhibited for the second time since I have been here.  [You never know what you've got 'til it's gone.....] We did fine, half of the school was traveling.

Monday is "Dr. Seuss Day - Read Across America" Your kids are encouraged to come to school in their PJ's. Slippers may be worn while inside, but playground appropriate shoes need to be worn in and out of our building (and for PE.)

For your calendar: We are hosting the first Multicultural Pot Luck on Thursday, March 21 in the Fellowship Hall from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Please plan on attending and bringing your family's favorite dish as a contribution. There will be a bake sale going on for all your dessert needs. We will provide all  the paper products and beverages. It's going to be delicious! And the Stellar Wildcat Choir will be debuting - you really don't want to miss any of this event!

Website update: for your convenience we have created 2 online forms. The one most of you will be interested in is the Summer Camp registration form... (It's time to start filling that out, so I can get a headcount of already enrolled students)

The second form is the registration for a screening. I tell you about it as we are offering a 50% discount for new families to start the process of enrolling in Stellar for this summer and beyond. If you have families that are interested in us, this is the first step, along with talking with me.

Both forms can be found as a "button" near the bottom of our "About Us" pages. don't worry, the paper version is available too.

As a reminder: Pets In Need, Box tops for Education, Ads for the Yearbook and tickets for the Dyslexic Simulation are still things to keep on your To-Do list.

In other news:

This Sunday, is Kids Discovery Day at the Tech  sponsored by KDFC. all you have to do to participate is show up at The Tech Museum in San Jose at    and say you heard about it on KDFC and your whole family will be admitted for free. It sounds like it's going to be fun.
